DIY Treatment – Power of Paraffin Wax
Paraffin wax powers up your favorite moisturizer to whole new level. Paraffin has amazing qualities. The the wax is mixed with mineral oil, to boost it’s power. Various scents are available to enhance your spa experience. Until you try it, you will not know how effective it is.
Once you become a mother your hands take a beating. Your hands appearance can suffer, as well as the health of your skin. Having a busy schedule of diapers, washing your hands and cleaning, can all do a number on your hands. Moms can add in a good skin care routine just for their hands. If you do not need it year round, you may just need it may be seasonally.
A Paraffin wax home treatment, could be your secret weapon in your beauty arsenal. A wax bath, might be just what you need. I recently tried paraffin wax for the first time. I found paraffin to be amazing at sealing in the moisture, you wish your skin normally held. The effects last a few days after the treatment.
Many models exist for Paraffin baths. Some models available are larger to accommodate feet and elbows. Look for a unit that will fit your skin’s needs.

Ahhh Massage! – New Types to Try
Let’s face it – Massage it’s not for everyone! Or is it, you need to find the right one?
Some of us love massage and others really don’t like. Right? Well maybe, you just need to find the type, which fits you. Think about what you like, dislike and research the styles, before you book your massage. Approximately 160 different types of massage exist in the world today, from all different cultures. Massage types vary a lot, the choices are numerous.
Well some of us, really don’t like the deep tissue type massage. The deep tissue type can leave you sore for a few days. I had one many years ago, which hurt during the massage and days later, I still had sore shoulders.
Well fear not, there are new types of massage which are not deep tissue and are really enjoyable. Newer massage types are Aromatherapy, Hot stone, Reflexology, Reiki, Pregnancy massage, Thai massage, Shaitsu, Back Massage, Cranial sacral, Raindrop, just to name a few.
I just had a Swedish massage a few days ago, while on vacation in Massachusetts. I was referred to a school in Spencer, MA. The Pain – Free Clinic of Central Mass School of Massage & Therapy is wonderful hidden gem of Central MA. If your ever in MA check them out for yourself, http://www.CentralMassSchool.com A great place for a few reasons: A well kept secret and a quality massage at a rock bottom rate. You can’t beat it on a mom budget. No mom guilt ladies, about spending too much on yourself. They offer student rates!
I had a Swedish massage, which is softer than a deep tissue. A lovely lady, Donna was my therapist. I left all of the tension behind on the table. You can think just about yourself during a massage, concentrate on you. How often does that happen as a mom?
A Great indulgence for an hour. Try a new style and Enjoy!

Day Spa Getaway at Home
Have you ever consider taking a day for yourself, at home and pretend your at a spa? After you drop the children at school, or off on the bus. Then take care of you for the whole day. Use the day for yourself escape into the tub and stay there for as long as you like. Recharge your mind, body and sole all at once.
Prep for the day ahead of time and pick up everything you’ll need to have this wonderful day. Make a special trip to purchase all of your items : facial mask, hair treatments, music, candles, lotions, oils, body treatments, skin care, foot products, etc. You can make it as complicated as you like, depending on how much time you have before your little loves are home.
I know we just can’t take off and go to a spa, with all we do as moms. It’s about the small indulgences to feel balanced and healthier. Time to make you feel great and be a better mom.
Happy Feet, Happy You – Sandal Season is coming
Spring is here and summer is around the corner. Sandal season is coming ladies, start now and your feet will look great for summer. We all want pretty feet, not all of us have them, work with what you have (We can change the way we feel about ourselves with a great toe color!)
When I see a lady with a great toe color and well cared for feet, I always think she looks well groomed. Hey we all want to look put together at least some of the time.
I’m like most moms, we wait till we have to put some sandals on to start with good foot care. The basics to beautiful feet are easy : soaking, scrubbing, moisturizing, and painting those toes. I researched why we moms often end up with cracked heals, often it’s just from not wearing shoes in the house. If it’s not a health problem, it may just be lack of support around your heel.
Tip : The tip I have is Ponds Cold cream. I only use it on my feet (I use the one with the light green cover for sensitive skin) If I could find a good organic, natural product I would try it, So far, I have only found Ponds to work. My doctor said to use products with urea as the main ingredient, but to me they don’t work like Ponds. Use it on you feet as a moisturizer daily and at night. Good Bye dry feet! Even if you have the driest feet in the world. It works like nothing I have ever used. I have tried almost everything.
Happy feet, Happy You

Yoga’s Abundance of Benefits
I had mentioned in a previous post on Mom Burnout on finding ways to help you feel better and more like you. One way, I believe to a healthy – happy lifestyle is Yoga. I practiced many years ago before my children came along.
I am new to Yoga again and the first to admit, I don’t know everything about yoga. I have been doing Yoga at my home weekly, as my schedule allows. I wish I could do it everyday, but as a busy mom, I just don’t have the time. Being a newer Yogi again and not great at the poses, I can tell you – Yoga still ROCKS!
The reason Yoga ROCKS in my book, is not so much while doing it. It’s OK it’s like easy to mild exercise. You start to feel really good about half way through the session. While doing it you feel pretty good. The blood flow in your body for up to a day after is AMAZING! The first time I did yoga, I swear I had found IT, the fountain of youth. You feel younger. I am really NOT kidding, I really understood how some seem to others as really fanatical about their Yoga. I can understand where the loyalty some feel to their practice.
The benefits of Yoga are far too many. These are just some of the benefits – the mind body connection, uplifted mood, posture improves, balance improves , stress management, relaxation, toning your body, flexibility, soft massage of your organs, and the list goes on.
I have found Namaste Yoga on Fit TV and love it. Check you listings for Namaste.
Look for it and try yoga for free, you may just love it, too.
